From the very beginning of Campaign 4, new Dungeon Master Brennan Lee Mulligan has maintained audience suspense with rich lore, a wide array of personalities, and a thrilling plot including celestial beings, demons, and sinister influences increasing in influence within the city.
Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of Campaign 4 lie ahead.
The Soldiers Table Revealed
The latest chapter finished on a dramatic pause and introduced the initial group of heroes who will branch out from the main group to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team features the determined fighter (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (the cast member), Wicander Halovar (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
Why Split the Party?
Considering an extensive roster, it was clear from the start that maintaining everyone at the same party would be unfeasible.
This explains, the opening chapters of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, connecting the personal journeys before dividing into three distinct groups: Warriors, Schemers, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to Brennan Lee Mulligan, the warrior group is for participants who prefer a classically intense fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
Initially, figures such as the hesitant healer Wicander Halovar might seem out of place, but the actions of the third episode show why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
To begin with, the group knows exactly where to go next after a brutal initial meeting with the enemy group.
A former ally of the deceased character—whose demise started the narrative’s action—used the foes for his selfish purposes, invading the hidden lair, striking the rogue, and stealing all the magical artifacts to dispose of.
The antagonist then cleared his debts and ran away to a fortified location in the remote area, north of Dol-Makjar, with Cyd hot on his heels.
Personal Motivations
Secondly, each character has a specific drive to exit the urban setting:
- The agile hero, as the close ally and best friend, desires revenge.
- The knowledgeable figure is familiar with the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous place.
- The warrior and Wicander, having defied his house’s orders to kill Teor and instead rescued him, have no other options.
- However, their status as key figures in House Halovar could help the group access places they normally couldn’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character vowed a eternal obligation to Wicander for his salvation and will now follow him wherever.
Wanted and Hunted
In addition, all of them are wanted by the rulers that govern Dol-Makjar for a variety of reasons, making staying in the city dangerous:
- The rogue and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The cleric defied House Halovar and the legion of demons they are allied with.
- The target is wanted dead by House Halovar.
This leaves them few options but to travel to the northern region in search of the traitor.
Future Episodes
From the latest episode’s post-show segment, we discover that the warrior group will not appear the following episode, leaving the rest of the cast members to round up the Explorers and Strategists parties.
Viewers can anticipate finding out which characters will be assigned to which table in the season’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on October 24.
